What to Expect

Do I need any fishing experience?

Nope. Not even a little.

We have women who have never fished before and women who have been doing it for years. Both fit right in.

Can I come by myself?

Yes—and a lot of women do.

You won’t be the only one, and it usually takes about five minutes before you feel like you know everyone.

What do I need to bring?

We’ll send you a simple list before your trip, but generally:

  • Weather-appropriate clothing (layers are your friend)

  • Closed-toe shoes

  • Food + drinks

  • A valid fishing license

We take care of the fishing gear.

What’s included?

Each trip includes:

  • Licensed guide and boat

  • All fishing gear

  • Fish cleaning

Details may vary slightly by trip, but we’ll make sure you know exactly what’s included ahead of time.

What if I get seasick?

It happens—and it’s better to plan for it.

If you’re unsure, we recommend taking something ahead of time (like Dramamine or a patch). Calm days help, but it’s still the ocean.

What if the weather is bad?

Safety comes first.

If a trip needs to be canceled due to weather or ocean conditions, we’ll either:

  • Reschedule, or

  • Offer a refund (based on the situation)

We’ll keep you informed as early as possible.

How physical is it?

Moderate, but manageable.

You don’t need to be in perfect shape, but you should be comfortable:

  • Standing for periods of time

  • Reeling in fish

  • Moving around a boat

If you have concerns, reach out—we’ll be honest about what to expect.

Will we actually catch fish?

We do everything we can to put you in a good position to catch fish—but it’s still fishing.

That said, trips like rockfish tend to have steady action, while others (like tuna or salmon) can be more variable.

What happens after we catch fish?

Your guide will clean and prepare your fish.

You’ll leave with it ready to take home (bring a cooler if you can).
